Summary
If a .mov file won't upload, it may not be fully exported, or it may use a codec Acceptd can't process. Re-exporting it in iMovie usually fixes this.
If Something Goes Wrong
Symptom: Your .mov file won't finish uploading.
Cause: The file wasn't fully finalized or exported in iMovie, or it uses the Apple ProRes codec (the "Best" option in iMovie), which Acceptd can't process.
Fix: Re-export the file in iMovie using a custom, high-bitrate setting instead of Apple ProRes:
- Open iMovie and select the project you want to export. Only export projects you consider finished. Further edits after exporting will discard the exported version.
- Select Share, then File.
- Title your movie and set the resolution to 1080p (or 720p if 1080p isn't available).
- For Quality, select Custom and set the Mbps as high as possible.
- Select Next, then save the file to your desktop.
- Wait for the activity indicator to finish. When you see "Share Successful," you can close the window and upload the file.
