Summary
If your media is uploading slowly or failing, a few connection and settings changes usually fix it.
If Something Goes Wrong
Symptom: Your file uploads slowly, stalls, or fails.
Cause: An unstable Wi-Fi connection, your computer going to sleep mid-upload, uploading multiple files at once, or a file over the 4 GB limit.
Fix:
- Switch from Wi-Fi to a wired connection if you can.
- Stay on the page. Don't navigate away during the upload.
- Turn off sleep mode on your computer while uploading.
- Upload one file at a time until each reaches the processing stage.
- Test your upload speed at speedtest.net. Upload speed, not download speed, determines how fast your media transfers, so a slow upload speed means large files take longer.
If you're exporting from iMovie and your file still won't upload, see Troubleshooting: .MOV File Won't Upload (Mac) for the codec settings that usually fix it.
